Easter is on its way and we are getting excited! It’s one of my favorite holidays because we can celebrate the Ressurection and spend time with family. Not to mention, all the pretty colors and flowers everywhere.
The only problem I have is that my kids are growing up.
I have a 20-year-old son, a 19-year-old daughter, a 17-year-old daughter, a 14-year-old son, and a 9-year-old son. It’s hard to think of things to go in their Easter Baskets when they are older.
So this year I teamed up with Maceys Grocery Store in Pleasant Grove, Utah, and I came up with some pretty great ides for Easter Baskets for Teenagers.
I could not believe the selection Maceys had down their Easter aisle. We found all of their favorite Easter candy and more! One thing that really stood out to me was the selection of plastic Easter eggs they had. They even had 8″ Easter eggs to hold a big gift in. It was really hard to decide which eggs to buy.
I decided that with all that was going on with COVID-19 I would make my kids Easter Baskets this year a little more practical, while still being fun. So we came up with some great ideas for both teenage girls and teenage boys Easter Baskets. Below you will see a picture of our haul.
Let’s start with what we got our teenage daughters. They really like to try out new hair products and skincare so we bought them some things they were wanting to try.
Here are the things we are putting in the girls’ baskets:
- Neutrogena Anti-Residue Shampoo
- Neutrogena Facial Wipes
- Scunci hair elastics
- Tree Hut Shae Sugar Scrub
- Lipsmackers Lip Balm
- Junior Mints
- Mike and Ike
- Peeps
- Reese’s Pieces
- Kinder Joy Egg
- Reese’s Peanut Butter Eggs
- Ring Pop
- Trolli Eggs
Now, that looks like a basket I want for myself! I know my girls are going to love them! Those cute little purple plastic bins are from Maceys too and the kids can use them for organizing their room afterward. Win, win!
Our boys are another story. They are harder to shop for. but I think we did pretty good.
Here are the things we are putting in the boys’ baskets:
- Energizer Flashlight
- Axe Body Wash
- Cetaphil Moisturizer
- Pomade for their hair
- EOS Chapstick
- Peeps
- Reese’s Peanut Butter Eggs
- Reese’s Pieces
- Junior Mints
- Mike and Ike
- Ring Pop
I think they will really love the metal flashlight for camping trips and my oldest son will keep it in his car for safety.
Since my nine-year-old son is still young enough to want toys, we added a few other fun things to his basket.
In addition to the things my oldest son got, my nine-year-old got an electric toothbrush (he’s always wanted one) and a Dino Smash set. Also, instead of the EOS Chapstick, he got a Lip Smacker Black Panther chapstick to hook to his backpack for when school starts again.
I have a little tip for you on an easy way to fill eggs with candy for Easter Egg Hunts. We pour the candy onto our bedspread and scoop up the candy with the bottom of the egg. It’s so easy and quick! So there’s your tip from a typical mom.
We added some Trolli Eggs and some Butterfinger Eggs to these plastic eggs and will hide them on Sunday morning. We usually do our Easter Egg Hunts on Saturday with our family and on Sunday we hide a few eggs around the house including one golden egg per child with $5 in it. The kids really enjoy that tradition.
What are some of your favorite things to put in your kids’ Easter Baskets? I’d love to know so leave me a comment.
