Well, the first term of school is over and Fall Break just finished. I’m embarrassed to say that my kids have pretty much eaten the same things for lunch every day since the beginning of school.
So it’s time to spice things up in the school lunch department.
I’m a creature of habit so things seem to stay the same for long periods of time. Including the types of foods I feed to my family. So I’ve been on the search for some new ideas to spice up the kid’s lunches.
I’m going to share these ideas with you today along with a printable page with TONS of ideas for you to change things up at your house too!

I love to serve my kids healthy and organic foods in their school lunch box.
Fresh fruit, veggies and organic products are at the top of our list.
1. Organic Yogurt. Yogurt is one if my kids favorite foods and it makes me happy because I know it’s good for them with probiotics and calcium. That’s why we love Stonyfield Organic YoKids yogurt.
Especially since Stonyfield announced a sugar reduction across it’s yogurt portfolio. They now have between 25%-40% less sugar than the leading kids’ yogurt. Stonyfield YoKids yogurts are certified organic and Non- GMO Project verified.
They are free of toxic persistent pesticides, artificial hormones, antibiotics and GMO’s. You can get the yogurt in a variety of formats like cups, pouches, tubes, & smoothies.
My son really loves their packaging. He loves visiting the zoo and seeing all the wild animals.
He had to show me how he can sound like a cheetah! ha ha!
2. Green Salad. Those pre-washed and cut salad mixes in a bag couldn’t be easier. Just open the bag and fill the container with lettuce. Top with a variety of veggies that your kids like like organic olives, carrots, grape tomatoes, sweet corn, etc. Use an organic dressing like balsamic vinaigrette, Italian, Creamy Caesar and Ranch.
3. Veggies or Chips and Dip. If your kids don’t like salads, maybe they’ll like dipping organic veggies or chips into an organic dip. You can just use the same organic salad dressings as the dip. Hummus is also a great dip for crackers or veggies. Super easy and the kids think it’s cool.
4. Fruit Salad. Buy a bunch of organic fruit, cut it up and portion it out. Grapes, blueberries, raspberries, melon balls, blackberries or strawberries. Freeze it and put it in their lunch box. It will keep everything else cool and it will be thawed before lunch time.
5. Don’t forget the treats! There are plenty of organic treats out there to send with the kids to school. Cookies, granola bars and applesauce’s.
6. Beverages. Most beverages for kids are laden with sugar and a tiny amount of real juice. It’s important to read the ingredients in kids drinks. You can send your kids with organic milk or 100% fruit juice. They even have organic juice pouches for convenience.
There are so many healthy and organic options out there for our kids school lunches. It makes it easy to send healthy lunches with your kids every day. You’ll also have peace of mind knowing that you are giving them the nutrients and quality ingredients they deserve.
