Summer is the season for Weddings. Love is in the air and we always have a few weddings to attend each summer. The hardest part for me is choosing what to buy the happy couple. I want to try and choose something unique that both the husband and wife will enjoy, and something they will use all year round. No one wants to give a gift that get’s returned or sits in a cupboard all year round.

I asked my friends on Facebook what gifts they were given that were unique but they still used and they gave me so many great ideas.

We keep ours on display draped over the couch in the winter and it lives in the ottoman in the summer time for when we are watching movies at night and want to snuggle up together.

2. A Small Toolkit. How smart is this? When you leave your parents home, or the apartment you shared with your roommates, you usually leave the tool kit that belongs to that home. So usually a married couple needs a tool kit to put together all that new Ikea furniture they will be getting, right?
3. A Tent for the Adventurous Couple. A tent is another one of those things that a newly married couple doesn’t really thing about getting. But how much fun is it to camp with your spouse? Especially before the little babies are on their way. It’s a cheap date for a poor newly married couple.
4. A Sewing Kit. This is one of those things that you don’t think you need until you need it. I can’t tell you how many times I’ve turned to our little sewing kit throughout the years. At least once a month I need something out of it. It’s so handy to have in your home.
5. Year of Dates Basket. This is the cutest idea! You come up with 12 amazing dates and include everything the couple needs to have a fun date at least once a month. 6. A Step Stool. I use our step stool all the time. Even tall people need a step stool. This comes in handy all the time. Whether you are changing a light bulb or trying to reach something from a top shelf, this is a great gift.
7. Cast Iron Dutch Oven. This one goes along with the tent and the blanket. Perfect for camping or using it in the kitchen or oven like shown below. Dutch ovens are so much fun to make food in and they will have plenty of time to season it before the kids come along.
8. Camp Chairs. I think I have sort of at theme going on here, but camp chairs are not just for camping. I love using my chairs at all sporting events, watching fireworks, sitting outside as porch furniture. We use our camp chairs so often, they are the best thing ever!
9. Make a Budget Binder. When you first get married, it’s a great idea to work out your budget with your spouse. Money problems are one of the things couples fight about all the time. 10. A Beginning Cookbook. This is something that every newly married couple needs. A cookbook that has great recipes in it that are easy for those who haven’t cooked for two. Help that newly married couple eat a little healthier by learning the basics.

  1. Lately as I was at the wedding couple got their own star! I asked where to get it and there is a website which you can order some piece of the universe. I checked and in fact, in the kingdom of universe you can buy something like this. Now I know what to buy next time 🙂
