All moms know how boring family dinner can get. We struggle to think of new dishes to serve our families. That’s why I’m so happy to have partnered with P.F. Chang’s Home Menu to bring you these fun ideas for family dinner time. And now the P.F. Chang’s Home Menu Orange Chicken and Chicken Fried Rice are available in Family Size too! Perfect for those of us with big families.
My family loves Asian food, but no matter what, every time I try to make it from scratch, it takes me so long we don’t get to eat until 8 PM.
We have decided that we really want our kids to know how to make vibrant and delicious meals at home so we decided that each weeknight, one of the kids gets to help mom cook dinner. They get to decide what to make (with mom’s help) and they prepare it. It’s such a nice time for me to get to talk to each of my kids.
I have a daughter whose “make dinner night” actually falls on Wednesday. Which is perfect for Wok Wednesday because she always asks to make Orange Chicken. We have made it from scratch a few times, and boy, is it time consuming! That’s why we love P.F.Chang’s Home Menu. She can still make orange chicken, but it takes less than 15 minutes.
When I serve my kids foods from different cultures, we try to be as authentic as possible. I try to teach the kids about the culture as we eat, stirring up meal time conversations. My little ones love to try and use chop sticks when we eat Asian food. It’s pretty tricky for them. One time when we visited an Asian restaurant, the nicest lady was our server. She showed us how to set up the chop sticks so they would be easy for our kids to use. I’ll show you how!
You’ll need the wrapper of the chop sticks, or a strip of paper towel or paper and a hair elastic.
Fold the paper as small as you can make it.
Put it in between the two chop sticks towards the ends.
Wrap the hair elastic around the bottom of the chop sticks and you’re done! So easy!
Now the child can easily get the food to his mouth, and not all over the floor, or himself!
P.F. Chang’s Home Menu family size skillets launched in January 2017, giving larger households a convenient way to enjoy P.F Chang’s Home Menu at home. It’s so nice to have an easy Asian option for the family on a busy weeknight. Only P.F. Chang’s Home Menu offers restaurant-quality authentic Asian food, at home.
I have never tasted anything like these dinners from the freezer section. The veggies are vibrant and the made-from-scratch sauces are perfect. How fun would it be to celebrate Wok Wednesday by stirring things up with the kids in the kitchen?
This week, when it was my daughter’s turn to cook dinner, we ran to the store and grabbed P.F. Chang’s Home Menu Family Size Orange Chicken. It was so delicious and was done from start to finish in 15 minutes. Orange Chicken is made with real Orange Peel and other carefully selected ingredients that allow caramelization of the sauce, replicating the wok cooking process. P.F. Chang’s Home Menu also offers Family Size Chicken Fried Rice, made with authentic Thai Jasmine Rice sourced from Thailand, Sambal, a traditional Asian ingredient that brings a little spice to the dish, white meat chicken, carrots and scrambled eggs.
