10 Places You MUST Eat at in Disneyland
Food probably isn’t one of the first things you think of when planning a trip to Disneyland, but it should be. You really can’t say you’ve done everything at Disneyland until you’ve tried most, if not all, the yummy food offered.
Before you go, hop over to Get Away Today to get the best prices on your Disneyland trip. Don’t forget to use promo code TFATM to save an additional $10 off your package. That’s equal to another meal or snack in the park! Not sure what to get? Here are ten places you MUST eat at in Disneyland!
1 – Blue Bayou
The Blue Bayou in New Orleans Square is well known not only for its delicious food, but also for the fantastic atmosphere. It’s the only restaurant at Disneyland housed inside a ride! You’ll feel like you are dining on a river’s edge, with dark sky above and the sound of the bayou all around you. Check the water below and you’ll even see some travelers on their way to explore the world of the Pirates of the Caribbean.
While you soak in the ambiance, you’ll want to try some of the well-known dishes like the New Orleans Signature Gumbo or Le Special de Monte Cristo Sandwich. You can dine here for lunch for better pricing or book dining packages that include your meal and seating for special shows. Whether you enjoy your lunch or dinner at the Blue Bayou, make sure to watch out for any hungry pirates!
2 – Café Orleans
Café Orleans is another go-to restaurant in New Orleans Square when you are in the mood for some good grub. This restaurant features many of the Blue Bayou’s menu items, but at a cheaper price. You’ll want to make sure you try the Pommes Frites, Monte Cristo Sandwich and Mickey Beignets before anything else.
The Pommes Frites are tossed with garlic and Parmesan, and taste divine with a side of Cajun Remoulade. You can order the traditional Monte Cristo sandwich or try the Three-Cheese Monte Cristo with Double Crème Brie (YUM) instead. Leave room for dessert because the Mickey Beignets are something you can’t pass up. In fact, you’ll probably find yourself at the Café Orleans again and again for more of these fried goodies.
3 – Carthay Circle
If you are in the mood for fancier dining, look no further than Carthay Circle on Buena Vista Street in Disney California Adventure. This gorgeous restaurant is themed after the original Carthay Circle Theater where Snow White premiered in 1937. If you’re not blown away by the décor, you will be by the seasonal Californian entrees. This restaurant also offers World of Color packages that include a three-course meal and priority seating for the show. It’s a spectacular choice if you want to be wowed!
4 – Corn Dog Castle
The Corn Dog Castle in DCA isn’t fancy like Carthay Circle, but delicious in its own way. Here you’ll find a theme park favorite with a touch of magic. All of the corn dogs are hand dipped, which really makes a difference. You can choose between a classic, spicy or an all-cheese corn dog. You’ll have a hard time choosing between the three so you might as well get them all!
5 – Cozy Cone Motel
The Cozy Cone Motel is another place in Disney California Adventure where you must eat. Not only will you get to order from a traffic cone, but you’ll get to try some unique snacks too. Some favorites are the chili cheese cone, pretzel bites and Pear of Dice soda. Each cone offers a different snack, so check the menu before jumping in line. Don’t forget to peek into Sally’s office in the middle before you go, you might just notice another Pixar buddy hiding on her desk!
6 – Napa Rose
After you’ve spent the day snacking, there’s no better way than to finish with a dining experience at the award-winning Napa Rose in Disney’s Grand Californian Hotel. You and your taste buds will be stunned by the dishes that Chef Andrew Sutton creates. This is the tip-top of culinary experiences when it comes to Disneyland. It’s a dinner you do not want to miss!
7 – Pacific Wharf Café
A bread bowl is a classic Disneyland treat. You can get a variety of soups served in these bowls throughout the park, but the Pacific Wharf Café serves the best. You can choose from broccoli and cheese soup, clam chowder or San Francisco Shrimp Louie. What makes this bread bowl top the rest is that the bread is freshly baked from the Boudin bakery next door. You can’t go wrong with fresh bread and soup no matter the time of year!
8 – Plaza Inn
The Plaza Inn on Main Street U.S.A. in Disneyland is most known for its Minnie and Friends – Breakfast in the Park. At this Character Dining experience, you can meet Minnie and other characters like Captain Hook and Rafiki while enjoying a breakfast buffet. The Plaza Inn is also open for lunch and dinner with items like fried chicken and pot roast. You won’t see any characters for these meals, but it’s a great stop for fast and delicious food!
9 – Tiki Juice Bar
No trip to Disneyland is complete without a Dole Whip! You can find this iconic treat at the Tiki Juice Bar in Adventureland, right outside the famous Tiki Room. You can choose from the Dole Whip or a Dole Whip Float served with pineapple juice. If it’s your first time to Disneyland, you need to stop here. You can’t truly say you’ve been to Disneyland without enjoying this classic sweet treat!
10 – Goofy’s Kitchen
Goofy’s Kitchen is located in the Disneyland Hotel, just outside of Downtown Disney. This popular Character Dining experience features Goofy and his friends for both breakfast and dinner. You’ll not only have a ton of fun, but get to try some crazy concoctions like peanut butter and jelly pizza. This restaurant is a favorite because it is the only one to feature characters during dinner. It would be the perfect way to end your trip to Disneyland!
There are so many fantastic food options in Disneyland. While you can’t go wrong with any of them, make sure to try these top ten spots. If you have any room for a snack, don’t forget to get a churro too. No one knows why, but the churros from Disneyland are the best churros ever – it must be the Disney magic! No matter what snack cart you stop at, you won’t be disappointed with this sugary treat.
The best way to try all the food is to spend more time in the parks. Not only do you save more per day on a longer ticket, but you can get your 5th day free when you book with Get Away Today.
