It’s no secret that I love Ice Cream. I love making my own ice creams, sorbets, and custards at home. I am passionate about eating the best possible ingredients, and that’s why when I don’t have time to make my own ice cream, I choose Breyers.
This year Breyers is celebrating its 150th birthday and has partnered with celebrity chef Curtis Stone and his wife, actress Lindsay Price Stone, to create 12 recipes featuring Breyers Natural Vanilla, inspired by every month of the year, to give families a way to celebrate birthdays and special occasions with Breyers all year long.
I am so excited to share one of chef Curtis Stone’s recipes today with you. It’s a Spice Roasted Fig with Toasted Hazelnuts and Vanilla Ice Cream. I had so much fun making this recipe today with my kids. We had fun dipping the figs in the spice mixture and the kids had fun watching the figs toast under the broiler and watching the sugar bubble. And, I’d have to say that they loved taste testing this recipe also.
The broiling figs made my house smell so good that some of the kids came and asked what candle I was burning. It made my house smell like Autumn and got me ready for back to school time.
Let me tell you a little bit about why I love Breyers so much. Breyers Natural Vanilla is made with fresh cream, milk and sugar. All Breyers vanilla is real and from sustainably farmed, Rainforest Alliance Certified™ vanilla beans. Breyers only sources milk and cream from cows not treated with artificial growth hormones*. Breyers was founded in Philadelphia in 1866 when William A. Breyer hand-cranked his first gallon of ice cream, which featured fresh fruits and nuts, and sold it to his neighbors. Breyers products are available in grocery stores nationwide for a suggested retail price of $3.99 – $5.99.
