How to Snack in Seconds with Skinny Pop

05/02/16 | Health, Recipes

This is a sponsored post written by me on behalf of SkinnyPop. All opinions are 100% mine.

Summer is on it’s way. It’s inching closer and closer and all I can think of is “How am I going to keep the kids from eating my whole pantry?” So I have been thinking about healthy yet filling snacks to stock my pantry with and popcorn is the perfect choice. It’s inexpensive and the kids can have fun coming up with their own creative mix ins. Not to mention it will keep them full longer than most other snacks.

We had to travel to Washington from Utah last week. A 14 hour drive after you count all the stops you have to take with kids. I knew the kids would need some snacks to keep them satisfied in the car so I set off on an adventure to Walmart.com to find healthy snacks that I can grab or throw together in seconds. I came across Skinny Pop and thought to myself, “Why have I never thought about snacking on Popcorn? It’s has a ton of fiber and I’m sure it will fill me and the kids up!” Then I started reading the label on the SkinnyPop packaging and I saw that it contains NO GMO, gluten free and the snack bags are only 100 calories! Yes!

Then I looked a little further and saw some other things that I thought would make healthy snacks like dried cranberries, pecans, and dried dates. You guys, if you’ve never tried dried dates, you are missing out. They are so good! I grabbed some popcorn seasoning (about 4 different varieties) then headed home.

I made the BEST snack mix out of these ingredients. I love popcorn and this snack mix is my ultimate favorite thing to snack on when I want something sweet. So I’m going to share with you how to make it in seconds. It’s also so easy to throw together in the car while traveling. I can feel good about serving my kids this snack mix on the GO!

Sweet SkinnyPop Snack Mix

  • 1 bag .65 oz. SkinnyPop Popcorn
  • 1 small handful dried cranberries
  • 1 small handful dried dates
  • 1 small handful coarsely chopped pecans
  • a few shakes of your favorite sweet popcorn topping (I used the Chocolate Caramel flavor)

Open the bag and add all other ingredients to the bag. Hold the bag closed at the top and shake. You’re done in seconds! Enjoy!

SkinnyPop comes in a variety of flavors too. You can choose from Original, White Cheddar, Sea Salt and Pepper, and Naturally Sweet. I love being able to snack without compromise. SkinnyPop uses the fewest, cleanest, and simplest ingredients possible to bring you the best tasting popcorn.

I have a son with allergies and I can give this to him as a snack because SkinnyPop is peanut free, tree nut free, dairy free, and has no artificial flavors or ingredients.

What would you mix in with your SkinnyPop Walmart from  to make it your favorite?

Love getting this stuff at Costco. It makes movie marathons less damaging to my waist line.

This looks like a great healthy snack! I’ve been so much hungrier this pregnancy than my last (lol!) so I need more healthy snacks in my life. I would add chocolate because I love chocolate!
