Hasbro is helping our community this year by giving us the #JoyMaker Challenge. They sent me 50 toys and games so that we could give back to our community. This has blessed our lives so much! Let me tell you a little about our experience and how you can get your family to GIVE BACK this holiday season.
First of all, “What is the Joy Maker Challenge?” Hasbro will be donating one toy for every kid or teen involved in service during the Joy Maker Challenge. This campaign runs from November 23-December 23. Head to the generationON website and learn how to report your service.
I don’t know about your kids, but with my kids usually at this time of year it’s all about “Me, Me, Me.” This year is a little different though. Ever since Hasbro has sent us these 50 toys and games to give back to the community, my kids have had a different attitude about Christmas. Maybe it’s because we are so blessed, and we have everything we need, but my kids haven’t really asked for much this Christmas. They have seen these toys in our home and have seen some of the families in our community come and take some for their families. The feeling you get when you are helping someone who needs a lift this Christmas Season is indescribable. We have been the blessed ones serving our community. Not only have we helped our community by providing these toys to families, but we have served our community in different ways.
I serve in our church as a Youth Leader for the Young Women. I am the Young Women President. I love this calling. It gives me so many opportunities to serve our community. I also get to do these activities with my daughters and sometimes my son when we combine activities with each other. Along with the youth in our church we put together a Secret Santa program. We gathered information about families that need a little extra help this year and got the other church members to help purchase the things these families need. Then with the help of the Relief Society, we gathered the gifts and wrapped them. Lot’s of time serving here! I love it!
Last Sunday we were very privileged to serve our community by helping at the State Developmental Center. The residents there need help attending church and they need volunteers to help them at their dance on Wednesdays. This act of service is returned 100% to us because we can feel of their sweet spirits and they lift us up more than we lift them up.
On Saturday, my family and other youth from our church and their families will be going to help with the distribution of toys at our local Toys for Tots. I am so excited about this activity. I’ll share pictures on Facebook with you when we get done.

Dear Friend,
Will you join me in helping children in need get toys this holiday season? I’m helping generationOn with their annual holiday campaign, the Joy Maker Challenge. For each kid or teen involved in service during the campaign, which runs from November 23—December 23, Hasbro will donate a toy or game to Toys for Tots, up to 1 million dollars’ worth. Plus—you’ll be entered to win grants, including one (1) $1000 grant and twenty (20) $250 grants. There’s two easy ways to get involved:
1. If you are already doing a service project, simply share it at generationOn.org/joymaker. This can be any service project completed from November 23—December 23.Â
2. If you need holiday service project ideas, visit generationon.org/joymaker to find them, sign up and share your story.
Hurry! There’s not much time left!
I hope you can find someone to serve this Holiday Season. Learn more about what we do with our kids each year HERE.
