I love to eat avocados, and my favorite way to eat them is to smash them up with a whole bunch of my favorite ingredients and make guacamole. This recipe is family friendly and perfect for those Football Game Day Parties you plan on hosting this month. This is a recipe that I’ve tweaked until it was perfect for me, so hopefully you love it just as much as I do.
I use a food processor to make my guacamole but you could smash it all together with forks and dice all the ingredients really small. I have a (affiliate link) Hamilton Beach Food Processor that I love!
Homemade Guacamole
- 3-4 Haas avocados
- 1 teaspoon lime juice
- 1/2 teaspoon kosher salt
- 1/2 teaspoon ground cumin
- 1/2 medium onion
- 1 jalapeno pepper, seeded
- 1 tomato seeded
- 2 tablespoons cilantro
- 1 teaspoon chopped garlic
Cut the avocados in half and remove the seed. Cut the top and bottom off the onion and cut it in half and peel off the top layers. Add half of it to the food processor. Cut the top off the jalapeno then cut it in half the long way. Remove the seeds and then add half to the food processor. Add the cilantro and garlic to the food processor and pulse until chopped finely. Add the lime juice, salt, cumin and pulse one of two times. Add the avocados to the food processor and pulse until chunky. Cut the top off the tomato and squeeze out the seeds. Chop finely and add to the food processor. Pulse one or two times to mix well. Enjoy with chips.
