I love to decorate, which you would never be able to tell because my house is usually full of all sorts of unmatched items because I’m a frugal girl. Most of the things in my house have been given to us or I have found while garage saling. Seriously, all you have to do is look at the before picture of my girls room to see that.

I decided I was going to change the way my home looked, and I was going to start in the girls room. Not that they deserve it, because their room is always a MESS, but because I fell in love with all the things I found at Big Lots when I went shopping there a few weeks ago, and all of them were perfect for a Teen Girl’s Bedroom. I had a really hard time not filling my cart to the brim with all the cute Home Decor and Furniture they have. I had to meticulously put things back so I would stay on budget. Dang budgets!

Speaking of budgets though, I really did score a TON of stuff. Way more than I would have if I shopped anywhere else, so I’m WAY pleased with Big Lots prices. This whole room makeover cost under $280. I checked more off my list of the things I needed for the makeover shopping at Big Lots and I found great quality, name brands, and trend-right items, all at a great value. Trendy, not spendy, is what I always say! I always shop Big Lots first.

For the girls room makeover, we started with the bedding. We knew that’s the focal point of the room and we wanted something that we could build on. My girls picked these really cute reversible sets. The colors are neutral so they can change out the decorations in their room when they feel like doing so. They decided they wanted to use red as their pop of color so we bought those super soft throw blankets for the end of their beds. I love the way their beds look (when they actually make them).

Don’t you just love that pop of red those throws give it?Teen Girls Bedroom Makeover

Now, you might have noticed that there is another amazing piece in their room that gives it a pop of red. Yep, that cute table is from Big Lots. I’m in love with it. It fits perfectly in between their beds and really ties the room together. Remember, I said I redecorated their whole room for under $280? Can you believe it?

I found this amazing lantern down with the home decor too. And the electric candle. Notice I said electric. Let’s keep our kids safe. This really classes up the room. I love the focal point it gives the room.

I just couldn’t leave the store without this foil canvas print. It’s so pretty on the wall and reflects the light from the window so beautifully. And I always want my girls to be reminded how beautiful they are inside and out.

They have different versions down their framed art aisle at Big Lots too!

I headed to the frame aisle next and picked up two of these cute collage frames. These are so easy to switch the pictures out and hang on the wall and they were an awesome deal. I want my girls to see family pictures and be reminded that they belong to a bigger picture.

As I was oogling over the foil canvas print at Big Lots, I turned around and found these gems. Perfect for a teen girl’s room. One is a quote from Audrey Hepburn that says “Elegance is the only beauty that never fades” and the other one says “You can never be over dressed or over educated.” Words of wisdom that my girls will read multiple times a day now that they are in their bedroom.

We added a few more family pictures and the girls school pictures that I took and the makeover was complete.

Now all we need is for the older sister to decide what pictures will go in her collage frame. That may take a year. Until then, she will stare at strangers above her head. Ha ha!

What do you think? Don’t you absolutely love the red table from Big Lots? I’m in love with it.

I know, right? I am in love with their mattresses too. My kids lay on them while I shop, though they shouldn’t 😉

I need to makeover my littles’ room. They are 4 and 6 and their room is a DISASTER. They need more organizational stuff and some nice things on the wall. Looks like Big Lots is where I need to go to find the things I need! #client
