Hey Everyone, I’m Julia from TheQuietGrove. On my site I love to share articles as well as Tips, Ideas and Inspiration from my neck of the woods on Parenting, Family, Homemaking, Education, DIY’s, Activities, Recipes, Printables and more. Thanks Annette, for having me today!
This Halloween I want you to forget about the tricks, and instead focus on yummy treats!
Growing up, one of my favorite school days was the one set apart to celebrate Halloween. (Usually Halloween day was on Halloween itself. However, sometimes when the holiday fell on a weekend we would celebrate Halloween day on the Friday before.) I loved getting to come to elementary school all dressed up in my Halloween costume. Everyone worked as hard as they could so that after lunch we could celebrate. First we would all line up and participate in a school wide costume parade. I remember that one year my mother handmade me a Pocahontas costume with a beaded fringe (my parents still have that costume in their dress up box for the grandchildren.).
Then after the costume parade it was time for the class parties. We would do Halloween crafts, play games, and best of all share with each other yummy treats. Back when I was younger we were able to bring homemade treats like cupcakes, cookies, and homemade rice Krispy treats. However, these days things I am informed that due to issues of health and safety all treats have to be prepackaged. Many teachers have to send out notifications to parents letting them know that their kids have to bring NON food to share due to food allergies, intolerance’s, and sensitivities of some of the other students.
This is why making treat bags for Halloween school parties are so popular. You can put whatever you want in those cute little cellophane bags then just tie the bag closed and attach a little Halloween tag with a bit of ribbon. Its simple, but totally worth it!
You can download your FREE Halloween Treat Tags HERE! (I designed it as an 8 1/2 X11 so you can print at home or at a print center. I suggest you print it on Cardstock)
For those of you in charge of throwing the Halloween Parties I have a really cute Halloween Party Printable Collection (in the same style of these Treat tags) as well as Halloween Candybar Wrappers available in my Etsy Shop HERE.
