We love to do Taco Tuesday at our house and yesterday I was making the meat and realized I didn’t have any taco seasoning left! Ugh! So I decided instead of running to the store, I’d come up with my own recipe. And guess what? It was WAY better tasting and WAY healthier than the store bought seasoning.
You can throw it together with spices you probably already have in your pantry.
Homemade Taco Seasoning
- 3 Tablespoons chili powder
- 1 Tablespoon cumin powder
- 1/2 teaspoon onion salt
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 teaspoon corn starch
- 1/4 teaspoon pepper
Mix all ingredients together.
Use 2 tablespoons per pound of ground hamburger.
Add about 1/4 cup of water after adding seasoning to meat and let simmer for about 5 minutes to thicken.
