So here’s how you make the Homemade Double Chocolate Doughnuts.
Double Chocolate Doughnuts
- 1 1/2 cups flour
- 1 cup sugar
- 1/4 cup cocoa powder
- 2 beaten eggs
- 1/3 cup softened butter
- 1/2 cup water
- 1 3/4 tsp salt
- 1 3/4 tsp baking powder
- 1 1/2 tsp vanilla
- 1 cup chocolate chips
In a medium bowl or the bowl of your stand mixer beat the butter until smooth. Add the sugar, eggs, vanilla and water and beat until well blended. In a separate bowl mix together the flour, cocoa, salt, and baking powder. Slowly add to the wet mixture while the mixer is on until well incorporated. Plug in the Holstein Doughnut Maker and wait until the green light turns on.
Carefully open the maker and spray top and bottom with cooking spray. Pour enough batter into the cups until it reaches the top of the cup. (note: this is a picture of the vanilla batter)
Close the lid and cook for about 5-7 minutes. Carefully open the maker and remove the doughnuts with a bamboo skewer or plastic fork.Do not use metal objects to remove doughnuts. (This is the chocolate batter)
Let cool on a cooling rack.
Once cool, melt the chocolate chips according to package directions. Pour chocolate into a zip top bag and snip off a tiny bit of the bottom corner of the bag. Drizzle the chocolate over the doughnuts. Let harden then enjoy!
