I am an Ice Cream fanatic. I don’t have regular Birthday Cakes, I have Ice Cream Cakes. When we go out for a treat, we go and get ice cream. We used to live close to a Frozen Custard place that I loved, but since we have moved I haven’t had Custard, and I’m really sad about that. UNTIL . . . New DREYER’S Frozen Custard was created!
Custard is Ice Cream’s creamier cousin. If you haven’t tried it you really need to head to Wal-Mart right now and get yourself some. DREYER’S Frozen Custard is located down the Ice Cream Isle. Super Easy to find.
You can demo these yourself by heading to a Wal-Mart cross country on March 26-29. Click Here to see if your local Wal Mart will be participating.
I know it may seem plain but the simple, sweet vanilla flavor in the new frozen custard is so silky smooth, it’s perfect for the Homemade Hot Fudge and Strawberry Sundae recipe I’m sharing with you now. To me, Vanilla is not plain; it’s just plain rich and creamy good! DREYER’S Frozen Custard is made with fresh milk and has no artificial colors or flavors. This Hot Fudge, Strawberry and Custard Sundae is to die for. It is literally the best Sundae I’ve ever had from any restaurant, hands down. Chocolate Covered Strawberries are my favorite treat and so is Custard, so this is the perfect blend for me.
Homemade Hot Fudge Recipe
1 stick of butter
1/2 cup cocoa powder (I like dutch processed cocoa)
1 1/3 cup sugar
1 cup evaporated milk
1 t vanilla
Add butter and milk to a medium saucepan and turn on medium high. Bring to a boil stirring constantly then add the dry ingredients. Cook on low until it coats the back of a spoon (3 or 4 minutes). Add vanilla. Let cool a little bit before using on vanilla DREYER’S Frozen Custard. Refrigerate leftovers and reheat by microwaving for about 30 seconds.
To assemble the DREYER’S Frozen Custard Hot Fudge & Strawberry Sundae, start with custard in the bottom of the sundae dish, then layer with hot fudge and sliced strawberries. Repeat until you reach the top. Enjoy!
I couldn’t just buy Vanilla Custard, I had to try other flavors. Strawberry Shortcake Custard is a Sweet cream frozen custard with shortcake pieces and a creamy strawberry swirl.
Snickerdoodle Frozen Custard has snickerdoodle pieces and a perfect cinnamon flavor. Chocolate Malt Custard is a perfect blend of chocolate and malt and so silky smooth. There are many other flavors to choose from.
I love toppings so the Old Fashioned Vanilla is my favorite.
