In my opinion there is nothing better than butter, garlic and Parmesan, especially when it’s melted on top of bread. This recipe is so easy to whip up for your soup or spaghetti night, you’ll make them all the time!
Easy Homemade Parmesan Garlic Breadsticks
For the Dough:
1 1/2 cups warm water
2 tablespoons sugar
1 tablespoon fast acting yeast
1/2 teaspoon salt
3 1/2 cups flour
For the topping:
1/2 cup butter, melted and divided
3/4 cup (or more) grated Parmesan cheese
2 tablespoons garlic powder (or more if you like)
3 garlic cloves diced or 3 teaspoons bottled garlic
Italian seasoning for sprinkling
Mix the warm water, sugar and yeast together in a measuring cup and let rest for about 5 minutes. Pour into your mixing bowl and with a dough hook mix in one cup flour and the salt until well incorporated. Add the remaining flour until a soft dough is formed. Then mix on high for 5 minutes or knead by hand for 5 minutes. Let the dough rest for about 10 minutes.
Meanwhile, pour 1/4 a cup melted butter into a cookie sheet (jelly roll pan) and spread around and up the sides of the pan. Add the dough to the pan and spread out with your hands or you can use a small roller.
In a small bowl, mix together the remaining melted butter, Parmesan cheese, garlic powder, fresh garlic and Italian seasoning. Spread evenly over the top of the dough. Add more cheese if desired.
Bake at 350 degrees for about 15-17 minutes or until golden brown and done in the middle. Remove and let cool for about 5 minutes before cutting them into rectangles with a pizza cutter. Enjoy! ~Annette

Made these tonight to go with our soup and they were yuuumy! I’m all about fast bread recipes that still taste good and this one will be a regular addition to our dinner repertoire. 🙂 I halved the amounts since there were only 3 of us, spread it out to fill most of a 15×10″ cookie sheet, and since I had a chunk of parmesan in the fridge I grated some fresh. I was worried that the amount of powdered garlic called for would be too much but it was great – wonderfully garlicky without being overkill. I’m wishing I’d made the full recipe now because we *ahem* ate it all…
