“I participated in an Influencer Activation Program on behalf of Influence-Central for Jif To Go Dippers. I received a sample to facilitate my review and a thank you item for participating.”
My family seems to be always on the go. Soccer practice for 3 of them and cheer for one. Church, tumbling classes, play dates etc. It’s always nice to have a healthy snack ready to grab as we are running out the door. My kids also like to have a snack to eat while they are doing homework too. So I’ve compiled a list of our favorite Healthy “On The Go Snacks.”
Fruit. Of course this is a no brainer, right? Our favorite fruit on the go is grapes. You can make your life easier if you take 10 minutes after grocery shopping to wash the grapes and divide them into snack sized baggies. Then add them to a small container and put them in the fridge for the kids to grab. Bananas, oranges, apples, and strawberries are also great on the go fruits because they don’t require any prep work other than washing them.
Veggies. My kids love veggies. I do the same thing with them as I do with the grapes. I add carrots to a snack bag. I cut up red bell peppers into strips and add them to snack bags with snow peas and broccoli. They love it!
Homemade Granola Bars. Homemade granola bars are so much better for your kids than the store bought ones. You can decide what ingredients go into them. This is my favorite recipe from Honest Cooking. I love how she adds dried cranberries and pumpkin seeds. Homemade granola bars can also be made with less sugar and use honey to partially substitute the sugar.
Dried Fruit. You can make your own if you have a dehydrator or you can buy it at the store in bulk. Just divide into snack bags as soon as you get home or someone will grab the bag and eat it all!
Trail Mix. My kids love trail mix. I love how they think they’re getting a treat because it has chocolate in it. But they are also getting nuts and raisins too! Again, divide into bags.
Protein Energy Bar Bites. This is by far one of my kids favorite snacks. They are easy to make and require no baking. The perfect size for little hands too! Check out the recipe HERE.
Crackers or Pretzels with Dip. There are different versions of these in the store already pre-packaged for you to just grab and go. Our favorite are the Jif To Go Dippers. They are so convenient and my kids love them. You can choose creamy peanut butter or chocolate silk peanut butter spread.
These help my kids feel full for longer. They are an ideal on the go snack because Jif To Go Dippers are small and easily transportable. They are available at grocery stores nation wide so they are easy to find.
