“I participated in an Influencer Activation on behalf of Mom Central Consulting for Arla Dofino. I received product samples to facilitate my review as well as a promotional item to thank me for my participation.”
I know that there are a lot of kids out there who are picky eaters. I have been blessed to have children who are not very picky. The credit should go to my hubby, since he doesn’t let the kids be picky. They don’t have a choice but to try new things with him. He is very persuasive 🙂 One thing my kids aren’t picky about, cheese! We love trying new cheeses all the time. I thought it would be so fun to have a Kids Cheese Tasting Party to introduce some kids to a new kind of cheese they hadn’t tried before. Below are my instructions to make it successful!
Does your family love cheese as much as our family does? I love to buy this certain brand of cheese because I know it’s free from added hormones and made with all natural ingredients in an environmentally friendly way. Arla Dofino cheeses come in a variety of different varieties including Havarti (which is what we tried), Gouda, Edam and Fontina.
No mom likes to sit there and read the back of every package she is purchasing at the store. Ain’t no one got time for that! Arla takes the guesswork out of grocery shopping because you know you can trust them. Here is their checklist for quality:
Natural goodness from farm to fridge
Few ingredients
No added hormones
Insuring the milk comes from known
local farmers
Food safety and sustainability
Corporate social responsibility
Arla cheeses bring simple joy to families who want quick, healthy snacks for themselves or to share with family and friends. Please visit the Arla Dofino Facebook page for more information. Also you can check them out on Pinterest and on their Website.
Now, on to our party!
I got a few extra goodies while I was out shopping for my Arla Dofino cheese.
This is what you’ll need for your party:
- Arla Dofino Havarti Cheese (we had regular and dill)
- Butter Crackers
- Grapes (did you know grapes and cheese pair perfectly)
- Apples (we didn’t have apples, but after the party I though they would have complimented the Havarti perfectly!)
- Sliced Pepperoni
- Sliced Canadian Bacon
- Summer Sausage
- M&M’s (cause who doesn’t love a sweet treat too?)
- Bamboo Skewers
Start by cubing half of the blocks of cheese, then slicing them to fit the butter crackers. Cube 1/2 then slice 1/2 of the summer sausage too.
Skewer 1:
Cheese
Grape
Sausage
Cheese
repeat
Skewer 2:
Cheese
Folded Pepperoni (into 1/4ths)
Cheese
repeat
Skewer 3:
Cheese
Folded Canadian Bacon (into 1/4ths)
Cheese
Repeat
Skewer 4:
Cheese
Sausage
Cheese
Repeat
And so on and so forth until you’ve made the perfect skewers. I thought the kids wouldn’t want to eat a whole skewer, so I cut them in half and cut the sharp end off of them when I was done with sturdy kitchen scissors.
Then I arranged the left over summer sausage, sliced cheese and crackers onto a platter.
Then I added the leftover grapes and the M&M’s to separate bowls and we were ready to go!
The kids had been playing outside in the little kiddie pool we have for our 3 year old. It’s amazing how kids will entertain themselves, huh? I called them over and at first they were a little hesitant.
Then they tried it and loved it! This small amount of kids ate both of those trays! Then they had to get their fair share of grapes and M&M’s 🙂
We loved to make little “sandwiches” out of the crackers, sausage and cheese.
I asked the kids which cheese they liked the best, guess who won? The DILL Havarti! It is SO good! This would be such a fun End of School Year Tradition to hold with your neighborhood kids. Will you have your own kids cheese tasting party now? #HavartiParty
