I love 5 Guys Burger and Fries Hamburgers, but even more I love their Cajun Fries. They have the perfect blend of spices. I love making homemade fries that are baked so they are a little bit more healthy. So I thought I’d try to make a similar Cajun spice mix. I think this one is very similar to 5 Guys Burgers and Fries. Even better, I have a homemade Campfire Sauce recipe that is just like the one at Red Robin. Together, they are a perfect pair!
Here’s how you make them:
What you’ll need:
- 4-5 medium brown or red potatoes (really any kind will work)
- 3 tablespoons olive oil
- 2 teaspoons paprika
- 2 teaspoons cumin
- 1 teaspoon chili powder
- 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1/4 teaspoon cayenne pepper
- 1 teaspoon salt
- black pepper to taste
- gallon zip lock bag
- parchment paper
Preheat oven to 450 degrees. Cut the potatoes into thin wedges. Add to the zip lock bag. In a small bowl, mix together the olive oil and spices. Drizzle over potatoes. Zip up bag and shack and massage until all the potato wedges are coated with spice and oil. If you can, use parchment paper on a baking sheet to keep the fries from sticking. Spread evenly over the baking sheet making sure they are all laying flat on their sides. Sprinkle with more paprika, chili powder and salt.
Bake for 20 minutes, turning halfway through, until soft in the middle and browned nicely.
Serve warm with Campfire Sauce.
Campfire Sauce Recipe:
- 1/2 cup mayonnaise (We love olive oil mayo)
- 1/2 cup sweet and spicy BBQ sauce (just use your favorite)
Mix together well and you’re done.
So easy and fast! I hope you try these fries with campfire sauce. You’re family will love them! These are perfect for serving with Sloppy Joes, Hamburgers, Pork Sandwiches and Chicken Fingers!
