Some of you may know that I was a dancer once upon a time in my life. I still teach children sometimes when someone needs a substitute, but I really don’t dance anymore. Which I am really sad about because I really love dance. I took a break when I was having my kids for a while and realized very quickly that being a dance teacher wasn’t for me. Usually dance classes are in the afternoon, right when my kids get home from school, and since I don’t homeschool, if I taught dance, I would never see my kids. They would have to live in the dance studio like my sisters daughters did. I don’t want that for my kids.
Anywho, my point is, I really miss dancing. It is a great form of exercise and I feel creative and challenged when I dance. This is why Just Dance 2014 is perfect for me! I love the Kinect on XBox 360 and the fact that I don’t have to hold a controller in order to play.

This game is really so much fun. My kids love it and have a blast playing with each other. There are actually some fun children’s songs included in the game. But because it’s not a childs game, there are some inappropriate songs also. I guess you could call me a modest mother, I don’t like my kids dancing to sexy songs, so I just make sure they only play it when I am there and I make sure the songs they are picking are appropriate. There are no songs with swear words (and if there are any, they are silented out) but I have smart kids and they know what gets inserted here and there even though there is no word sung.
My 2 year old son’s favorite song is Prince Ali. He loves dancing as the Genie.
Everything can be controlled with your body. You don’t need a controller to switch menus or songs. One more thing I love about this particular game, it has a sweat mode where the songs just keep on playing and there are no long pauses between songs so you can get a real workout! Awesome! Players can personalize their Just Sweat workouts by creating custom playlists and counting calories.
Other Key Features of Just Dance 2014: Provided by Ubisoft
World Dance Floor: Dance with anyone anywhere in the world in Just Dance’s first-ever online multiplayer mode! Players join a virtual crew – made up of real-life friends or other Just Dance fans – and compete based on different themes (“Boys Vs Girls”, “Crew Vs Crew”). Players can also track their standing on global leaderboards, check out fun stats about other players around the world, and see community updates.
On Stage Mode: Own the spotlight in this new mode where one player will dance, lead two back up dancers, and even sing if they want! As the star of the show, the player can take it seriously and show off how talented they are, or just goof off with friends.
Party Master: Puppet Master mode has upgraded to the Party Master mode to give the player controlling the GamePad even more options to MC the party. Choose the next dance move, pick new songs, and even dish out silly challenges to up to four other players!

I would reccomend this game to my friends and family. It’s so much fun, and anything that gets people up and moving and having fun gets my vote! This would be a perfect Christmas gift. It will give you something fun to do during Christmas break and on New Years Eve and as a bonus, you’ll work off some of those extra Egg Nog calories, or in my case, chocolate.
Now you can be entertained by my oldest and middle child as they “sort of dance” because they knew I was recording them and my youngest plays in the background. Don’t mind the messy house. 🙂
