Who doesn’t love getting a REAL card in the REAL mail?? None of these e-cards, or “Happy Birthday” on facebook anymore. Let’s get back to really caring and taking the time to do something that rarely is done any more. Buy a card, write in it with a pen, and mail it. 🙂

I am amazed at the responses I got from my friends and family. I got phone calls, hugs, texts, and visits because of the cards I sent out. I sent out two birthday cards, a sympathy card, a “you’re my best friend” card, a thank you card and two “I miss you” cards.
Last year we moved to a new area in Utah and we were really missing our friends from our old neighborhood. It was so fun to have the kids reminisce about the “good old days” with their friends. The had fun writing notes to their friends in the cards.
I sent a card to my mom, because let’s face it, no one on earth has done more for me than she has. She deserves mountain loads of cards and thank you’s. Guess what? Her thank you was in the form of gushing over the card I sent her and saying thank you a million times and telling me how much she needed it that day.
I sent a “Crap” card (the cutest of them all with a felt grey cloud and rain drops on it) to someone who is going through a really rough time right now. That one got a hug in response. 🙂
This little experiment was so much fun. I loved sitting down and thinking about the people in my life. I loved reading the cards and choosing the perfect one for each person. A few of the cards even made a person pop into my head that I had forgot about. Cards have a sneaky way of making you feel nostalgic.
