These Felt Pumpkin Jack-o-Lanterns are the perfect invitation to play for your preschoolers. They are simple to make and create hours of creative play for your little ones.
I love this Preschool Felt Jack-o-Lantern activity because it cost me a whopping $2. I cut the orange felt sheets in half and made two fat pumpkins and two skinny tall pumpkins. Then I used two black sheets of felt and had fun cutting all sorts of shapes for him to play with.
Felt Jack-o-Lantern Preschool Activity
- Orange Felt Sheets – one for every pumpkin you want to make
- Black Felt Sheets – you can create all sorts of eyes, noses and mouths with a few sheets
- Scissors
If you don’t feel like you have any artistic skills, you can search for pumpkin shapes on google and print a pumpkin shape to trace. Otherwise just wing the shapes. Pumpkins come in all different sizes and shapes. Cut out as many pumpkins as you desire or one for each member of your class. Then with the black felt cut all sorts of different shapes. Some the size of eyes, some the size of noses and some mouths. I made triangles, circles, squares, rectangles, diamonds, ovals etc. Then for the mouths I cut some with sharp teeth, some with straight teeth, some crescent shapes and some larger circles and ovals. Let your imagination run wild. Then set the pumpkins out on the table and put the black shapes in the center and let the kids get creative making their own versions of Jack-o-Lanterns.
