Summer Activity for Kids Painting with Water

07/29/13 | Kids Crafts and Coloring, Summer, toddlers

I know it sounds so simple, painting with water.  But this will turn into your child’s favorite thing to do in the summer time (or fall, or winter, or spring).  It will also become the neighborhood kids favorite thing too once they see your kid out there having fun, watching his paintings disappear.  Even the “big” kids will want to join in.

The pictures shown above are of my son and a neighborhood girl who came to join us.  See, I told you!  Be warned… you will need to go and buy a lot of CHEAP paint brushes for this activity.  You will be sharing.  Don’t bring out your nice brushes.  You’re kids will ruin them after a little while because they will be painting everything they see.  The sidewalk, the side of the fence, the house, the windows, the car… their friends face.  Ha Ha!
Supplies needed:
-paper or plastic cups (or some junk cups you have laying around the house)
-water
-old paint brushes
-outside 😉
Easy peasy huh?

One night we brought out our stuff and, not kidding, there were 15 kids here painting the sidewalk.  Now granted, we live in a condo, so there are always tons of kids around, but there were kids here of all ages.  Boys and girls.  They all loved it!

Then when the little ones are sick of painting, they will have fun chasing the cup around and hitting it ’til it dies 🙂
Oh yeah, and one more thing… clean up is really easy.  If it spills, it dries.  The end.
Have a great summer!

Annette
