The weather still isn’t warming up for spring and I’m still pulling out the crock pot a lot! It just makes my house smell so good all day long and I love how easy it makes my life. Today I’m sharing with you one of my favorite recipes. Crock Pot BBQ Pulled Pork Sandwiches with Coleslaw.
Now to make your life easier, I’m going to say use your favorite store bought BBQ sauce for these. Ours is KC Masterpiece original. Also, I buy the coleslaw salad kit in a bag and rolls from the bakery at the store. I’m all about easy on a busy weeknight. But if you are a person that really likes everything homemade, I’ve included recipes for the BBQ Sauce and Cole Slaw also.
Crock Pot BBQ Pulled PorkĀ
- 10-12 pound Pork Shoulder Roast with bone in
- 1 cup water
- 2 tablespoons Kosher Salt
- about 2 cups of your favorite BBQ sauce (we use KC Masterpiece, but you can make your own, recipe below)
Pour one cup of water into your large slow cooker. Add the roast fat side up. Sprinkle with salt and cover. Cook on low for about 6-8 hours. 30 minutes before serving, drain about half of the liquid. Shred the pork with two forks removing the bone and fat. Pour BBQ sauce over the pork and stir. Let cook for about 30 more minutes. Serve on a fresh roll with coleslaw.
