I started teaching preschool again this year, so I will be posting some fun craft ideas that can also be used at home. We have so much fun with this particular project in preschool, but I know kids of all ages will love it! If you are a teacher, or just want it for your kids at home, please feel free to download the handouts for your classroom and the image of the “Naked Turkey” for your personal use. This is such a great Thanksgiving Turkey Craft Project.
Here are some examples of what our preschoolers came up with. You can tell we live in Utah because we have an LDS Missionary and a University of Utah football player 🙂
Here is the printout for classrooms: You can download them HERE from google docs.
Here is the “Naked Turkey” copy. You can download it from google docs HERE.
Additionally, here is a cute little poem that you can send home with your naked turkey also!
‘Twas the Night Before Thanksgiving
‘Twas the night before Thanksgiving
when all through the forest
there was a young turkey
whose first name was Morris
This turkey was happy
he played all the day
til he got some bad news
that took that all away.
It’s seems that a lady
that lived on a hill
was looking for Morris
a young turkey to kill
and eat for Thanksgiving
a juicy delight
and hearing this news
gave Morris a fright!
He had to do something
to save his dear life
so his kids wouldn’t miss him
as well as his wife.
A disguise might be good
to hide him away
he’d try almost anything
on this very sad day!
So he have it some thought
started using his thinker
came up with a costume
what a cute little stinker!
You’d never have known him!
I promise it’s true!
Now show how he looked.
It’s all up to you.
