12 Things a Soccer Mom Must Have in Her Trunk

I’ve been a soccer mom for 5 years now, and I’ve learned my lesson about not being prepared. Here is a list of things a soccer mom MUST have in her trunk at all times! These are things that never get taken out of my car during soccer season. Groceries have to be stacked in between seats until soccer is over.

12 Things a Soccer Mom Must Have in Her Trunk

1. Chairs. To sit on 😉 We really like the Coleman Broadband Quad Chair and we like to use the Coleman Stadium Seat for when we are lucky enough to be playing in a stadium. The kids like using the stadium seats on the grass too.

2. Picnic type blanket with a waterproof side. This is for the kids to play around on while they “watch” their siblings game. Or you can use it to keep your legs dry in a rain storm since your umbrella can’t keep you completely dry in a hurricane.  I have the JJ Cole Collections All-Purpose Blanket and I love it so much! You can fold it up and Velcro it closed and it has a strap so you can throw it on your shoulder and it’s out of the way.

3. Water. Enough for the whole family. I usually just buy a flat of them and leave them in the bottom of my trunk.

4. Sports Drinks for the athletes. Our favorite? The new BODYARMOUR sports drinks. Let me tell you why I love these! It’s time to rethink your sports drink.

This premium sports drink has more electrolytes than the leading sports drink. It contains coconut water, and vitamins and contains NO artificial flavors, colors, or sweeteners. BODYARMOR is also low in sodium and high in potassium. There is a better for you sports drink out there, and I want you to give it a try.

I feel so much better about giving these sports drinks to my kids. Try them out and let me know what you think. My kids loved these. They said they tasted SO MUCH BETTER than any of the other sports drinks they have had.

5. Soccer balls and a soccer ball pump. For practicing at every single park you stop at and to use before the coach arrives. And you know the soccer balls will be flat when you want to use them, so always have your Foot Pump handy.

6. A Stroller or a collapsible wagon if you have a youngin’. Trust me, you don’t want to have to carry a child and all the chairs across all 5 of the soccer fields to get to the one your kid is playing on. We have the Mac Sports Folding Utility Wagon and I can’t even tell you how many times this has saved my back and saved money because I don’t have to go to the chiropractor! Check out my review on my favorite stroller too!

7. A towel. Trust me, if it’s raining and you have to go and sit on bleachers, you’ll want a towel to dry off the seats so you don’t look like you just peed your pants. Also, this will help your child dry off after playing in the rain.

8. Snacks. This is to keep the other kids quiet so you can actually watch the game and not have to listen to whining the whole hour and a half.

9. An Umbrella. Not just for rain, but to block the wind and sun. And to shield you from the lacrosse balls being thrown in the adjacent field 😉 I really like this Tommy Bahama Umbrella for sunny days so I don’t have to hold it.

10. Sunglasses. Because you know if you are not the home team, you will have to be sitting facing the sun.

11. First Aid Kit. Just in case.

12. Shelter. Including Warm Blankets, Jackets, Coats, Gloves and Beanies. I don’t know about where you live, but where we live the weather can change in a minute. We use the sports tent to shield us from the really stormy days. I also have an Under Armour HeatGear® Long Sleeve Undershirt  for my kids to wear under their jerseys for cold days. These shirts are lifesavers!  They are not bulky like a jacket would be under their jersey and they really keep my kids warm. As far as a tent type of shelter, we really like the Lightspeed Tents Sport Shelter. It is so easy to set up with one person and is not humongous! It’s in the grey bag you see in the picture. It keeps the wind, sun and rain away.

This is some really good information to have if you are a soccer mom. I know that when I was a kid I know that my mom would have loved the foldable wagon. It does seem like a good thing to be aware of when you need to carry soccer balls and treats over to the field.
